General Education
Local school boards hold the exclusive authority to design and implement curricula. Wyoming doesn't require or provide a state-developed curriculum, however, there are uniform statewide standards set by the Wyoming State Board of Education. These standards include reading/language arts, math, science, and social studies, fine/performing arts, health, pe, cs, humanities, world languages, and government/civics. These content standards are what districts are required to follow. Wyoming law specifically requires instruction on U.S. and Wyoming constitutions.
Special Education
Wyoming reimburses 100% of allowable special education expenses to its school districts—covering staffing, services, and related costs. Wyoming’s Department of Education actively supports Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and data-based individualization (DBI) statewide through Project WIN—a network and web-based platform offering training, technical assistance, and professional learning communities. They emphasize LRE's, through inclusion “to the maximum extent appropriate,” alongside a full continuum of placement options (e.g., regular classrooms, special classes, home instruction). When funding and local resources are insufficient, Wyoming mandates inter-district agreements.
